"Industrialized Love" takes a deep dive into the diverse methods employed for dealing with deceased animals in Switzerland. The country offers distinct facilities for pets and farm animals. For beloved pets, the options range from burial in pet cemeteries to cremation. Farm animals, or specific parts of them, undergo a unique process, being transformed into animal flour and extraction fats in extraction facilities. Subsequently, these materials are utilized as bio-diesel or fuel.
This project leads us on a journey through one of Switzerland's rare pet cemeteries and provides an intimate look inside a pet cremation center. It also explores the industrial approach to managing animal waste byproducts. Without taking sides, it presents an unfiltered depiction of reality, leaving the responsibility of forming opinions to the viewer. "Industrialized Love" raises fundamental questions about society's contrasting treatment of pets and farm animals, although it refrains from offering definitive answers. Its ultimate objective is to evoke emotions and prompt viewers to reflect on their behaviors.
"Industrialized Love" addresses both perspectives: on the left, the story of pets; on the right, the story of farm animals.
